Homemade Italian Herb Pizza

About the Recipe

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 2¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast

  • 1 cup warm water

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2 tsp Taste of Italy blend (for the dough)

For the sauce & topping:

  • 1 cup tomato sauce

  • 3 tbsp Taste of Italy blend

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella

  • Your choice of toppings: pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, olives, etc.

  • Olive oil for brushing crust

Preparation

  • Make the dough: In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.

  • Add flour, salt, olive oil, and 1 tsp of Taste of Italy blend. Mix and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth.

  • Cover and let dough rise for 1 hour or until doubled.

  • Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down dough and divide into two balls. Roll out each into a pizza crust.

  • Spread tomato sauce over each crust and sprinkle with Taste of Italy.

  • Add mozzarella and your chosen toppings.

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  • Brush crust with olive oil before serving.
